NGS Copperplate Font Creation:
First thing is to say is I wasn’t a great lover of the Copperplate Font until I was asked to letter a Butcher shop in Angel in 2013. I chose to ‘chisel effect’ the gold leaf lettering and frame it with an antique white oultine.
This was the first chiselled letter painted in London for a long while.
Then a few months later I happened to see this in the Crown and Scepter Holland Road below, and it held up Copperplate in a different and more refined light for me.
Next came Alan Norris in white with a gold outline – and more chisels. To be continued
